Once again Diamantina has shown Australia that she is a superstar. Maree and Diamantina attended the Dressage with Altitude competition in Orange, NSW and came home after competing in her first CDI Grand Prix test with over 65%. She also competed in the Inter II test and won with over 68%. The Hidden Valley Team went to Dressage with the Stars at Werribee at the end of the March with Rangemore Mikardo and Diamantina IV.
Lilah Nieuwland rode Jenny Johnston’s magnificent andalusian gelding in the Prix St Georges for 13th place in a field of 29 horses. The combination then competed in the Intermediate Freestyle to impressively take 6th place with a score of 65%, to place 5th overall in the Prix St Georges Cup. Maree and Diamantina first competed on the Friday in the Grand Prix CDI to take first place in the mare’s second ever CDI competition! They then went on to win again in the GP Freestyle (pictured right:p/c Julie Wilson) on Saturday night with 69.5%.
In April Rangemore Mikardo and Lilah Nieuwland attended Hamag National Young Rider Championships where they competed in the 21-28yo Small Tour. Mick placed 3rd in the Prix St Georges and 1st in the Intermediate 1 with scores over 65%. He then went on to win the Intermediate 1 Freestyle with over 66% and was named Australian Small Tour Champion!
The next major competition the team attended was at SIEC for the Sydney 3* CDI. Lilah rode both Rangemore Mikardo and her own very flash Weltmeyer mare, Wajama and Maree rode her gelding Rodrigo III, Debstar LP and Diamantina.
Lilah competed on her lovely Wajama in the Advanced classes for her first major competition back in a full field. Maree also competed in the Advanced classes on Sarah Lloyd’s imported Di Maggio mare, Debstar LP to take 2nd place in the 5C and 8th in the 5B.
Rodrigo III competed in the Grand Prix CDN to take first place in his first major competition since being gelded late last year. Maree and “Ringo” then competed in the Intermediate II to take 5th place in a very strong field of competitors. Lilah and Rangemore Mikardo competed in the Prix St Georges CDI and Intermediate I qualifying for the Intermediate Freestyle where they finished in the top 10. (pictured left:p/c Julie Wilson).
Yet once again it was Diamantina who stole the show. Winning her test in the Grand Prix CDI with over 68% with ease. The super combination took second place in the freestyle on Saturday night where the competition was hot and 3 of the 5 judges had her in first place. She still scored over 70% on the night. Diamantina has done it again, and is proving her superstar status!
Diamantina’s new foal to Totilas, “Total Hit” is doing well and we have another embryo on the way.
We have had a few sales recently with Bloomfield Farms’ wonderful black Oldenburg stallion “San Rubin II” sold to a lovely new home in W.A. “Rosie”, our Regardez Moi filly has also been sold to HV team member, Ashleigh Howard. We wish them both the best of luck with their new horses. Rodrigo III is now available for sale. (pictured right:p/c to Equestrian Life). Please contact Maree for more details.
